The Ten Essential Tenets of the Presbyterian Church

  1.  Trinity – The mystery of God in three persons—Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
  1.  Incarnation – The eternal Word of God comes to earth in Jesus Christ.
  1.  Justification – Being made innocent by God’s grace through faith.
  1.  Scripture – The final authority for salvation and the life of faith.
  1. Sovereignty – Confidence in God’s power and care in all that we say and do.
    Everything is in God’s hands.
  1.  Election – God’s choosing of people for salvation and service.
  1. Covenant – The life of the church that orders itself according to the Word.
  1.  Stewardship – Faithful care of God’s creation and our gifts & resources.
  1.  Sin – Idolatry and rebellion that turns our focus away from the worship of the
    Creator. 
  1.  Obedience – The necessity of living by Scripture which directs us to love God and people to transform society.
